Afghan Youth Digital Literacy Initiative
We are the Afghan Youth Digital Literacy Team, a youth-led initiative working in the challenging realities of Afghanistan. Despite ongoing social, economic, and educational barriers, we strongly believe that technology can be a powerful tool for change.
Our mission is to empower Afghan youth with digital skills that can help them transform their lives, build resilience, and create new opportunities for themselves and their communities.
In a country where access to traditional education and employment is limited, digital literacy opens doors.
What We Do Best at Youth Digital Literacy
At Youth Digital Literacy, we take pride in delivering impactful, high-quality programs that empower Afghan youth through technology, education, and global connection. Even in challenging circumstances, our team has demonstrated strong capability, creativity, and commitment. Some of the areas where we truly excel include:
Coding and Language Education Programs
We run coding and language classes that focus on building basic and practical skills. Our aim is to help learners take steady steps forward, whether they are just starting or continuing their learning journey.
Coding Competitions
From time to time, we run small coding competitions to encourage learning and practice. These activities help participants stay motivated, try new ideas, and learn from one another in a friendly and supportive way.
Expert-Led Webinars and Tech Talks
We organize online sessions where Afghan youth can listen to and learn from people working in technology. These webinars give participants a chance to hear real experiences, ask questions, and better understand different learning and career paths.

We believe that empowering young people starts with access—access to learning, to guidance, and to opportunities to try, fail, and grow. Technology gives us a way to offer this access, even in difficult circumstances.
Our mission is rooted in listening to youth, understanding their realities, and responding with learning opportunities that are respectful, inclusive, and realistic. We try to create spaces where young people feel encouraged to learn, ask questions, and believe in their own potential.
We do not see empowerment as something we give, but as something we support and nurture. By focusing on learning, community, and consistency, we aim to help Afghan youth build skills that they can carry with them into the future.
